Slumping, Big Time

It seems that I want to get all my losses back at once on every buy-in. I am playing like I am desperate. I'm also falling back into the old trap from very early on where I just play until I'm broke, as if I'm in a tournament. I've lost about $65 in 7 1/2 weeks. I need to just get away from a table as soon as I've made a little money and slowly build up a cushion, and to develop the instinct of leaving the table with a profit to grow my bankroll. Take the longer view. Duh. Oh yea, and for the 1,000,000th time, step away from the table by about 10:30 pm.

Hey. I'm doing the Jesus challenge too. I started off with $100 though, and bought into $30 SNGs and went bust before you know it. I then bought in for another $30, and stuck to the bankroll management strategy you outlined and have brought it up to $50. This is all in 4 days work. My 100% bonus should clear in a few weeks, so if I keep up my ROI I should be up to $300 (with the bonus) by end of the year. I hope.

I wanted to see if you're still doing this challenge? I also don't understand why you never made it past a $100. With the bankroll management strategy you outline and if you really stick to it, you can easily be making $2-$5 a day in penny games.

Please do share more of what you have learned.

This is a really old post. I ended up going broke a few weeks ago, and added $1 to my account via a transfer from a friend. I got it up to over $5 for now. I needed a few months of playing freerolls trying to get back in the game in order to renew my perspective. Why did I go broke? Playing too much, too late at night....playing tired. Good luck with your goals. I think I'll do much better this time if I can manage to not play past bedtime!
